About the event
A taste of Agile on the Beach
In 2024, Agile on the Beach – Youth Edition will focus on improving attendee skills in teamworking, networking and communication. Throughout the day there will be a selection of activities, workshops and inspirational speakers to introduce Agile methodologies to school children in an engaging, informative, and interactive setting, thereby fostering an early understanding of the principles that are driving modern business and software development.
Agile on the Beach – Youth Edition will be held at Academy of Music and Theatre Arts (AMATA), Falmouth University, Treliever Road, Penryn, Cornwall, TR10 9LX on Wednesday 3rd July from 10am.

Arrival, breakfast and registration
Join us in the AMATA Building on the Falmouth University campus for breakfast and some team building / icebreaker sessions. You’ll meet your team members and mentors for the day whilst learning about the basics of Agile by playing with Lego!
1000 – 1045
Welcome to Agile on the Beach
Starting the day will be a short talk and demonstration from an exciting keynote speaker working in the tech / creative industry. Attendees will get the opportunity to listen, learn and ask questions of someone working in this industry right now.

Workshop morning
Choose your own adventure with a selection of workshops to help you learn about Agile, take control of your future, understand more about the world of work and more (details to be confirmed)…
Cyber Safe Workshop (The South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit)
Work in teams to crack the code for a safe using a selection of real-life forensic evidence
LED Workshop
Learn to code a selection of LED lights, strips and even the latest LED curtains
1200 – 1300
Lunch on the lawn
Just like the real Agile on the Beach, head out to the lawn of the AMATA building for a festival-style lunch with all your new friends and mentors.

What does your world of work look like?
Listen to your friends and peers at the end of the day with a discussion panel where we’ll invite a selection of attendees on stage to talk about what is important to them about their world of work. Attendees will get the chance to listen, learn and question their friends and fellow attendees about what their ideal future workplace and work-life looks like.

Cornish cocktails and canapes
Finish off with the way we traditionally start Agile on the Beach! Join us in the gardens of Tremough House, on the Falmouth University campus, for some (non-alcoholic) cocktails, local pasties and some lawn games until it’s time to go home…
