Headforwards is an outsource development company based near Redruth in Cornwall.

Centred around Agile philosophies and practices their primary aim is to build close and lasting relationships with clients in order to bring them business value. Their  100 developers work in small, self-organising teams and collaboration with clients at every stage is key.

Taking elements from Scrum, XP, Kanban etc. they create hybrid Agile approaches, are constantly striving for improvement and have embraced TDD, Mob programming and Continuous Delivery – one of the teams is releasing software 18 times a day across 6 global regions!

Headforwards isn’t a traditional outsourcing company – most teams are dedicated to one client, so clients have the benefit of retaining skill and creating strong relationships with the team but also gaining shared knowledge from across the company.

The focus on building a strong team that works well together has led to a couple of exciting things that you will see at AOTB this year!

Beer!

If you’ve been to AOTB before you probably will have tasted at least one of the beers that Headforwards have had a hand in creating. Collaborating with a local brewery, the Driftwood Spars, in St Agnes, this year sees the introduction of their 4th beer. Named by a delegate at AOTB 2018, CI: Continuous Inebriation, follows on from DevHops. You’ll be able to try a bottle and have a chat with some of the team who will be hosting the quiz at the Welcome to AOTB19 Rooftop Pasty and Pint night.

Mob Programming!

Several of the teams at Headforwards have embraced mob programming and the benefits it brings. They’ll have their mobbing station set up over the whole conference. Join them on their stand and find out more, or even have a go at mobbing yourself!
